Salaam, I'm Haris Shahid. I run the YouTube channel Travel Tips with Haris Shahid, where I share practical guidance for Pakistanis who want to study, work, or settle abroad. This site is the written half of that work — the part you can search, re-read and check against the official rules.

I built it for one reason: there is too much confusing and dishonest visa information aimed at Pakistanis. People are sold "guaranteed" visas, shortcuts that do not exist, and agent fees for routes they were never eligible for. They lose money they could not afford to lose, and often a year of their life along with it. My goal here is the opposite — clear, honest, up-to-date guides that tell you the real requirements, including the parts that are difficult, expensive or temporary.

What you'll find here

How these guides are written

Every guide starts from the immigration authority's own published rules — the government's website, not a summary of a summary. Where a fee, a salary threshold or a quota is quoted, it is the figure that authority publishes, and the guide says which year it applies to.

Two habits matter more than anything else here:

• Nothing is presented as easier than it is. If a route needs a degree you may not have, a language level that takes a year to reach, or a job offer before you can even apply, the guide says so near the top rather than at the bottom. A guide that wastes your time being encouraging is worse than no guide.
• Rules change, and guides get updated. Quotas open and close, thresholds move, whole categories are paused. When something changes materially the guide is revised rather than left to quietly go stale — but no site can be faster than the government publishing the change, which is why every guide asks you to confirm on the official source before you apply or pay anyone.

The CV Tool, and why it exists

A large share of the questions I get are not really about visas — they are about why nobody replies. Very often the answer is the CV. A standard Pakistani CV carries a photo, a CNIC number, a date of birth and marital status, and lists duties rather than results. In most European and North American hiring systems that document is filtered out automatically, before any human sees it.

So I built the CV Tool. You upload your existing CV, choose the country you are applying to, and it rebuilds the document to that market's conventions — Europass, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, UK, US, German, Dutch, Irish, Singaporean or Gulf — and scores it against the kind of checks an applicant tracking system runs.

The score, the breakdown of what is weak and a preview of the converted CV are free. You only pay if you want the finished documents. And the rule the tool will not break: it never invents anything. It reformats and rewords the experience already in your document. It will not add employers, dates or qualifications you did not supply — because a CV that lies is not a shortcut, it is a visa refusal and possibly a ban.

How this site is paid for

Being open about this seems fairer than leaving you to guess. Every guide on this site is free to read and always will be. The site is supported in two ways: advertising shown alongside the articles, and the paid services listed with published prices on the services page.

What the site does not do is take commission for sending you to an agent, a consultant or a "visa company". No guide here recommends a third party in exchange for a fee, and none ever will — that arrangement is exactly what makes so much visa advice online untrustworthy.

Who this is for

Mostly Pakistanis: fresh graduates weighing their first move abroad, skilled workers — nurses, drivers, electricians, IT staff, hospitality workers — looking at a real labour shortage somewhere, and people who have already been refused once and want to understand why. If you are researching from another South Asian country, most of it still applies; the passport-specific parts will not.

What I am not

I am not an immigration lawyer, a licensed consultant or a recruitment agent, and nothing on this site is legal advice. I cannot assess your eligibility, represent you with an embassy, or influence any decision — and I have no contact inside any embassy, consulate or visa centre. Anybody who tells you they do is worth walking away from.

What I can do is explain how a process actually works, what the official rules say, and how to present the experience you genuinely have so that it is judged on its merits.
